Aïoli[Alioli en español] (pronounced: al-ee-oil-ee) it's a composed word, made from the names of the two main components garlic(French: ail) and olive oil(French: huile; Latin root: oleum). I consider it a nice word play since they come from southern France (an area that has a lot of mixed roots) and they used the name of a traditional Mediterranean salsa, which has hot/spicy taste, so they are Hot Mediterranean Salsa.  :P  Anyways hope that helped satisfy your request.</description>
