Its necessary to understand the ESPN is very different than the Mayan. Comparing the two would be like comparing Dancing with the Stars to So You Think You Can Dance. They are different competitions! The Mayan is about the specticle, the show, and the diversity and excitement within the performers and their routines. ESPN is more about technique, definitely not into "entertaining" tricks, as we saw last year. ESPN is not as interested in a rountine being crowd pleasing, where the Mayan is! If you want to make comparisions, in semi-finals, David and Charlene ranked TWO places higher than Abel and Sulmara at ESPN last year. What's up with that?! AND at that time, David and Charlene had only been partners for a couple months.
Regarding their final Mayan rountine it was diverse, clean, entertaining, exciting and had A TON of energy. All components necessary to win for what the Mayan is looking for. They were the all-round best performers of the night. Watch out ESPN 2008, David and Charlene are going to take the prize!
