Hi guys. I am a On 1 dancer, recently I was told that I have been moving my hip like cuban style so my steps tend to look bigger than it actually be. Can anyone give some suggestion that I can get rid of the hip habit? Stepping only onto the front of the foot?
Thanks
P.S. This site is the best!!!

Thanks for the great website.
There is a very sensual song, but it is not Salsa, but rather, seems, reggaeton. I don’t know the words, but it says something like, “nooo naaaaa, nnooo naaa”.. and it has music sort of “tararara tata ta”I hope you can identify it for me, even though it is not Salsa.
Thank you

Hi guys,
I’m thinking of getting a video camera for recording dances. Needs to be able to record in low light in the clubs. Recommendations? What about this Flip thing I keep seeing?

does anyone know what its called when you have two sets of dancers (4 people, 2 guys 2 girls) dancing together? Ive seen in the past two groups exchange the female dancers in really cool and interesting maneuvers. Perhaps videos showing some of this may be added in the future??

Hi all,
could you help me identifying this song? It sounds to me like the salsa version of a well known melody, but I can’t figure it out.

Thanks a lot!

It took my teacher about 3 months to get me to stop doing that last year. Essentially when you step forward on your 1 and back on your 5 you’ll notice your hip swinging out.
The trick, as is proper salsa dancing, is to step on the ball of the foot, keep your leg straight and force the ball of the foot into the floor. When you do that make sure that your hip doesn’t drop off to the side, but you should be forcing your hip inward. You need to keep you foot, leg and hip in a straight line.
Have a look at ballroom cha-cha on YouTube, it’s not salsa, but the technique is very clear.
