Wow, I haven’t been around in a while… 3 new videos!!! Let me say Anthony you are THE best salsa instructor I’ve personally found on the internet. I’ve never had to go anywhere else for lessons and you just keep churning them out! No one else comes close to the quality of instruction and presentation that goes into your videos. Your a salsa CHAMPION!!! (I’m currently also seeking to learn Lindy Hop but I cant find too many videos. I wish you taught Lindy also, lol)

Speaking of your new videos… Should I ask what happened to Julie? She was such an excellent dancer and you two taught great together ;) Nonetheless, Welcome Jocelyn!

Hi Anthony, I’m a big fan of you and I love all the videos and tips you submit. I especially like the submission about learning the salsa beat. I have listened to it over and over again, however I still have big difficulties finding the beat of many Salsa songs, mainly those that does not use the 3/2 clapping.

Do you think you can find time to make other salsa beat lessons, especially with other instruments that indicate the beat? I am desperate to learn the beat.

Thank you so much in advance

There are applications out there that have salsa timing demos, I think Anthony’s iPhone app might be one of them. Also, you can find a number of salsa timing tools and resources online. “The Salsa and Merengue Society” website has some free instrument tracks at http://www.salsa-merengue.co.uk/VidTutor/salsatwo/trackindex.html, for example.

What a great tip. I’ll try the lessons in the next few weeks. It looks really promising.

        Thank you so much.

    Hello friends,
I have a carpeted apartment. I would like a setup a small spot for practicing salsa. One of my friends who faced the same problem bought a carton of hardwood flooring and set it up on the carpet, however it would fall apart while practicing. So he purchased metal crown molding and nailed them into the carpet to hold the hardwood flooring in place. Has anyone else tried this? Any better alternatives?

I bought a 6×4 piece of laminate and taped it on the floor. Scratch that it wasn’t carpet. Plywood should work as it’s heavy enough to not move around. You can just use the plywood itself or place the flooring on top of it.

Hey, I keep seeing a number of dancers/instructors wearing what look like motorcycle boots (albeit very slimmed down boots) and am curious as to what exactly they are and where one might get a pair! To give an idea of what I mean, take a look at this: http://img844.imageshack.us/img844/6216/boots1.jpg
    Any help appreciated!

I’m not sure, but those look very uncomfortable…. how do they do footwork in those things??

On the contrary, because they’re so..hugging, I imagine you can feel a lot more through them which would make footwork a bit easier, surely?
