You are right, it is no "Ray Charles" movie; to my personal opinion the movie was better in its own way. It is about a man and music that inspired a group of people both in and out of the hispanic culture. The reviews have been bad because people cannot face the fact of a Puerto Rican making it big and still being remembered throughout his flaws then and now, yet, also forever.
