As you all know, I am a HUGE Hector Lavoe fan. With that said, after seeing this trailer for the movie “El Cantante” which is about the life of Hector Lavoe and listening to the music, hearing Marc Anthony sing, and having a rush of memories come back to me.. I literally got shivers and goosebumps. I’m really looking forward for this film. I hope it will unite the salsa community and bring salsa back into the mainstream so others can enjoy it. Get a grip. Open you’re mind, learn from historic moments. Many minority celebrities and social right freedom adversaries of the times status quo, were blindly led to ruins. Tricked into the life of drugs, sexual embarrassment, or misrepresentation with regards to tax evasion. The effort was to keep status quo. Marie, I do not expect you to understand what I’m writing about and please do not mis-interpret what I’m trying to convey. I am not trying to get you upset with anyone or of the doings of the past. Just love your people, embrace their talent. Create your own interpretation on how you think this latino singing superstar should be represented if you don’t agree. Nevertheless, lets stay together. Support, love and respect one another.
