Salsa Music Mondays : More Latin Cover Song Remixes

Salsa Cover Song Remixes - Beyonce and Duran Duran“It’s the end of 2009, do you know where your salsa shoes have been?” If you’ve been a fan of the addicted2salsa audio shows, you’ll remember that was the intro line for our Latin Dance Cover Songs pt 1 show which aired ~3 years ago this day. Given the popularity of some of the songs featured, one of our addicted2salsa fans from Southport, England (UK), DJ Ivan Yokhna, sent us a few new Latin cover song remixes that he created. I have posted them below so that everyone can start helping build the Part 2 version of the episode.

Given the number of times we’ve been asked about the Lenny Kravitz salsa version of “Thinking of You” that was featured in Salsa Music Episode #22 , here is a present for all of you.

Which cover songs would you like to hear Salsa or Latin remixed versions of? Let us know in the comments!

Love the version of thinking of you. Did you hear the version for “let it be” by tito nieves? it’s very good too – and it’s a bit slow it’s easier to do the steps hehehe. Happy Hollydays, Anthony!

Hi! I’m sure that a Justin Timberlake’s or Enrique Iglesias’s pop song mixed-up with a real salsa beat would be a blast!

  • I love the salsa version of “you rock my world” by Michael Jackson. It’s a very good song for dancing salsa

  • Where can we find more Salsa versions of music? I love this salsa twist on my music! :)

  • i would like to hear more Salsa remixes :)

  • i think a michael jackson song would be a salsa remix right about now.

  • There’s a lot of salsafied songs on the 2 “Rhythms del Mundo” albums on iTunes, check them out if you’re interested.

  • Oops, correction, most of the songs on those albums I mentioned are actually cha chas.

  • Daniel Castaneda

I love the “salsafied’ versions of popular songs. i am a dj and was wondering if there was a way i could buy the songs or somewhere i could download them.

  • LA 33 has a very nice cover of “my favorite things”, on their cd “gozalo”

  • cold.salsero

You know what would be really hot? If someone did a salsa remix of “Forget Me Nots” by Patrice Rushen. The song definitely has a really strong clave feel to it. If anyone knows of a remix that exists, please let us know!

    • You could make a really nice cha cha out of that song

  • I’ve been thinking of remixing a few songs:

    a) closer by Neo
    b) I wanna do bad things with you (theme song from true blood)
    c) rock that body (black eyed peas)

I think these songs would make amazing salsa songs as they have really interesting beats and vibes.
