Salsa Music Video Playlists on YouTube!

YouTube, distributors of the highly popular salsa dance instructional videos of addicted2salsa, have launched a new music feature on their website! The new website feature allows you to type a salsa artist or song, and create a salsa music video playlist with videos that are related to that particular artist or song. This new feature is very similar to Pandora (no, not the Avatar type),  where you can create a ‘music radio’ station based on artists that sound similar to a song or another artist.

This is a great way to visually discover new salsa songs and artists! Enjoy!

Free Salsa Dance Videos on YouTube : Now with Footnotes!

YouTube finally made public the new features we had been testing a few weeks ago: Annotations. I believe this feature adds a tremendous amount of value to dancers viewing salsa videos.

Now, after we upload a video, we can provide additional points of information such as song name being heard, extra salsa dance tips, and my personal comments. I have tried it out on a few videos, such as the Complex Salsa Dance Move.

If you can, watch the video again on the YouTube page and let me know what you think of the annotations feature – and any ideas on how we could use this feature to improve our videos.

Since we added our first salsa dance videos on YouTube, there have been various questions and mistakes (specifically the earlier ones) and I plan to correct those while providing some additional valuable tips. So who knows – you might find something new in those old videos! Enjoy!

Download Free Salsa Dance Video Lessons!

salsa dance videosI have received a lot of email about our free salsa dance video lessons – I’ve heard it has become popular (who would have thought?). Well, to make it easy for many people in the world to be able to view the podcast and most of the latest videos, I have updated the salsa dance videos website with a video player and multiple links to the different formats of the video feeds. You can watch our Youtube Channel, subscribe to our iTunes Salsa feed, or just read most of the video articles straight from our website!

Check it out!

We will be making the website more ‘salsa media centric’ as time goes by – so stay tuned!

A Great Collection of Salsa Dance Videos…

The wonderful (possibly future co-host) Julie sent me these videos, and I found them to be inspirational. It is of course a biased list since you have some of my favorite-styled dancers there.

Here you have Magna and Adolfo social dancing at a Salsa Congress to “Para Ochun y Yemaya” by Hector Lavoe and Willie Colon.

Here are two great dancers: Burju (Hacha y Machete) and Milton Cobo (Cobo Brothers) social dancing in the San Francisco Salsa Congress. They are both known for having incredible body movement, and while the video is short, it is still sweet.

One of the favorite videos in this set. This is my favorite couples to watch dance. This is Hacha y Machete (Victor and Burju) Freestyling at the UK Salsa Congress. Of course, I’ve never asked the question to Victor or Burju on who is the Hacha and who is the Machete out of them both.

And of course, finally – for something a little faster – is the other Cobo Brother, James Cobo dancing at the UK Congress showing the pattern he taught (or just freestyling).
